CMCTU 25th Anniversary

Save the date of Saturday, June 4th with your family to join us all for the CMCTU 25th Anniversary Event!

We have reserved the wonderful facilities at Rainbow Falls Mountain Trout, Inc. (just north of Woodland Park) for a day of family fun, great fishing, and good eating — and not necessarily in that order. Rainbow Falls is a private fishing club 10 miles north of Woodland Park on Rt 67. It boasts over 100 acres in a beautiful park-like setting with seven big ponds and almost a mile of streams to fish.  The ponds and streams are stocked with HUGE fish and lots of them — check out some of the pictures here if you don’t believe it.

There are picnic tables, covered pavilions, and the cleanest porta-potties you will ever see throughout the premises. This is NOT the typical rugged fishing hole but rather a wonderful, clean place to bring the family for a fun relaxing Saturday. State land surrounds the park – great for those who wish to hike or just go for a leisurely walk.

Our Anniversary Event Committee is working out the details, but so far there will be fly casting and fly fishing instruction for the novices from beginner all the way up to those who think they’re experts, all especially geared for spouses, some friendly competitions, and lots of great food and refreshments. This will be a perfect venue for sun bathing, chatting with friends, or just plain relaxing.  We will have a short formal program to recognize and remember the founders of our chapter and its history later on in the morning. The gates will open at 8:00 am and close at 6:00pm.

The cost to offset some of the food expenses will be $5 per person with a $20 maximum per family. We can’t emphasize enough to bring folding chairs, sunscreen and plenty of water to drink. Alcohol or firearms are not allowed anywhere on property. All fishing will be catch & release using barbless flies only – no bait or lures permitted during this event.

The on-line sign-up form has been closed. You may still pay for the event thru the PayPal button below. Look for pictures to be posted soon here and as well on our facebook page. See you at the celebration on the 4th! Thank you!
